Spasmodic Coughs

Sweet Marjoram is the best oil for treating spasmodic coughs: coughing that leads to dry chest spasms, often causing shortness of breath and/or difficulty breathing. This makes Sweet Marjoram the ideal choice for those suffering from the Whooping Cough and spasmodic bronchial and respiratory conditions. Along with its antispasmodic properties, Sweet Marjoram is antiseptic and will help to control the spread of infection. For this purpose, use Sweet Marjoram in combination with steam by creating a steam tent, using it in a warm bath, at the bottom of your shower or diffused in your environment.

Muscle Pain & Cramping

Sweet Marjoram is also very effective for leg aches and 'charlie-horse', arthritis, lumbago, cramps and muscle spasms. For this purpose, use Sweet Marjoram in combination with heat, by creating a massage oil and applying it over the affected area followed by a heating pad or hot water bottle.

DIY Massage Oil

Add 60 drops of Sweet Marjoram Essential Oil directly into a 100 ml bottle of Jojoba Oil. Shake well and apply.  Add Lavender Highland and Clove Bud to broaden the spectrum of action (30 drops sweet Marjoram, 30 drops Highland Lavender, 5 drops Clove Bud).

Sleep Aid

Sweet Marjoram is extremely calming, and makes an effective natural sedative. It is useful in cases of insomnia, restlessness and nervous exhaustion. Simple inhalation is the best way to reap these psychological benefits; diffuse Sweet Marjoram in your environment or create a personal roll-on to apply on pulse points in times of need.

DIY Roll On

Add 5 drops of Sweet Marjoram Essential Oil to a 10 ml Roll-On bottle. Fill the bottle with Jojoba Oil, shake well and apply to pulse points.
