Most Commonly Used for: Coughs and difficulty breathing. One of the best oils for spasmodic coughs, whooping cough and respiratory infections. Sweet Marjoram is also very effective for leg aches and charley horse, arthritis, lumbago, cramps and muscle spasms. For this purpose, use Sweet Marjoram in combination with heat by creating a massage oil and applying it over the affected area followed by a heating pad or hot water bottle. Can be used in compress on the stomach for colic, stomach cramps, constipation and digestive problems.
Emotional/Psychological Uses: A very effective tranquilizer or sedative. Helpful in cases of insomnia and nervous exhaustion.
Blends Well With: Bergamot, Chamomile, Lavender, Juniper, Frankincense, Grapefruit, Lemon
Inside Info: For an after-sport treatment oil, blend Marjoram, Juniper and Lavender in a bath or massage
